Registration valid until mid-May, with the possibility of selling the car with a full year of registration if the vehicle is sold in Croatia and the new owner wishes to register it immediately.
This car is a replica/copy of the legendary car from the French movie Taxi 2. The project was built to be as close as possible to 1:1 with the movie car.
The car sits on TSW Imola wheels, which are very rare and almost impossible to find in 4x108 fitment. In addition to the 4 preserved wheels currently on the car, fitted with new Nankang 215/45 R16 all-season tires that have only done around 2,000 km, the sale also includes 2 additional identical alloy wheels without tires. These have minor parking damage but could be very useful as replacements since these wheels are extremely difficult to find.
The car has a Momo steering wheel from 1998 with an Isotta center, making it identical to the one used in the movie. The original steering wheel, which is in excellent condition, is also included.
Inside the glove compartment there is a console like the one in the movie. It currently has no function, but it could easily be wired to light up since the electrical preparation has already been done.
The seats are taken from a wagon version, because this interior color was not available in sedans except in American versions. Because of that, the rear bench backrest was reupholstered to match. The headliner has also been reupholstered.
The car has a Lastovčić performance rear muffler, which is officially registered in the vehicle documents.
The gear shift knob was sourced to match the one from the movie, but due to lack of time it has not been fully adapted yet. To engage reverse you currently need to lift the ring under the original gear knob, so a solution would need to be designed to make the new knob fully functional.
I am leaving the interior finishing work to the next owner, as that is the only part left to complete in order to match the movie car (excluding the airplane-style additions and controls). Personally, I find those a bit too much, but if the next owner wants to add them, there is plenty of space to do so.
The car has H&R springs, lowering it by 3 cm.
All modifications are certified and registered in the vehicle documents, including the fake roof air intakes, which increase the vehicle height by 10 cm.
The car has 310,000 km.
A minor service was done 600 km ago, using Motul 8100 X-cess 5W40 oil.
Brake pads and discs were replaced 2,000 km ago, and tie rod ends and steering links were also replaced at that time, followed by a wheel alignment.
Although the car is very attractive, it is 24 years old with significant mileage, so it should not be expected to be like a new car. Minor imperfections are normal for a vehicle of this age.
A lot of money, effort, and time has been invested in this project. It is also very difficult to find a Peugeot 406 sedan with the V6 engine, as most of them are coupe versions.
Please no unnecessary comments and no ridiculous offers. This car is not for everyone — it is for car enthusiasts and someone who wants to own something unique that cannot be seen anywhere else.
As far as I know, this is currently the only Taxi replica car for sale in the world.
