Comentarios
Jaguar E-Type, built in Oct. 1962 with the exceptional colour combination of opalescent maroon with maroon interior. Very rare and very nice.
It is also a very original car which has been maintained in 2010/11 when a lot of work was carried out (new wiring loom, new windscreen, new suspension, front and rear axle, all with new and quality bushes and bearings, overhauled carburettors, 3.07 diff (original E-Type), brakes, clutch, etc.) Moreover the left sill needed replacement due to some damages and thus the left side needed a repaint.
The car is of course fully matching incl. VIN plate as well as the body no. tag to be original and moreover comprises also of a dynamo, starter, ignition coil and many more things. I am focusing on originality and therefore collected already some missing original items:
- original NOS gear knob
- original horn push
- original center dash legend / strip
- original 4/62 Lucas 22902 dynamo (the correct one)
- toll roll with all original tools
- Metallifacture jack
- original documentation (owners manual, grease chart, and many more)
- and a CUD key ring
- etc.
You still find the original crayon body no in the boot lid as well as on the bulk head, which itself is very rare. And if you look very closely, you will even see a few faint spots of the painting on the vacuum reservoir.
But there are still some things, which need to be addressed:
- brakes again
- bubbles on the lower right hand door
- engine out to renew the rope seal as well as replacing the clutch bearing
- new hide of the seats
- to overhaul the original fuel pump
By doing that you will get a used, original car. The one repaint from the US (when measuring the paint thickness you will find only that additional layer apart a bit more on the left hand side panel behind the door) isn't perfect, the chrome either. But both are nice and represent a patinated car from 62 instead of these 2025 E-Types with a bit of historic sheet metal under the new coat of paint. Alternatively you might consider a bare metal respray only at the outside (what I was thinking about).
There are some parts on the car which do not match. Most of them are stored separately, even possibly original to the car (starter motor, brass dash potdampers, etc)
Everything else please ask.
