Mit der Markteinführung des DB7 im Jahre 1994 belebte der britische Automobilhersteller Aston Martin die traditionsreiche Typenbezeichnung DB wieder. Diese geht auf die Initialen David Browns zurück, den ehemaligen Besitzer der Marke. Der DB7 war nach zwei Jahrzehnten das erste Modell, welches nicht durch einen V8, sondern durch einen Sechszylinder und in späteren Varianten durch einen V12-Motor angetrieben wurde. Zunächst wurde der DB7 nur als Coupe angeboten, Ende 1995 folgte das bei Aston Martin als Volante bezeichnete Cabrio. 2004 wurde der DB7 schließlich vom DB9 abgelöst.
