2004 Porsche 996 GT3 RS for sale
<hr>The 996 GT3 RS was the very first Porsche to carry the “RS” badge in the modern, water-cooled GT3 lineage. Introduced in 2003 as a homologation model for international GT competition, it was based on the updated 996.2 GT3 and represented a sharper, more focused version aimed squarely at track use. Porsche built just 682 examples worldwide, all in left-hand drive and exclusively for select markets outside North America.
Compared to the standard GT3, the RS featured weight-saving measures such as a carbon-fibre bonnet and rear wing, thinner glass, a welded-in roll cage, and more aggressive suspension geometry. Its raw, analog character has made it a highly sought-after model among purists and collectors, setting the tone for every GT3 RS that followed.
#691904 GT3 RS was ordered new in the German market (C00) and first delivered on May 2004 in Zuffenhausen via the Porsche “Werksauslieferung” program. Factory ordered with lightweight headlights -without washers-, M597 red contrast, white painted roll-cage and center console, and several additional white painted special wishes (Porsche Exclusive, “Z” orders): White face instrument cluster dials, body colored bucket seat cover and, seat inlays, and white gear knob and handbrake lever.
This rare example of 996 GT3 RS is presented for sale in pristine and unmodified condition with just 23.000km from new. It retains its original panels and complete first paint -with the very characteristic “bubbles” in the front hood- as well as its matching numbers engine and gearbox. It has always been serviced by Porsche Centers or renowned marque specialists, and will be delivered to its new custodian with a fresh maintenance.
