Naast de legendarische Porsche 911 introduceerde het Duitse merk in 1965 de Porsche 912. Het uiterlijk van deze sportwagen is hetzelfde als van de 911, maar qua uitrusting was de 912 wat eenvoudiger. De Porsche 912 werd uitgevoerd met een viercilinder 1600 motor en was een stuk lager geprijsd dan de 911. Hiermee werd de 912 een aantrekkelijke en succesvolle Porsche, die ook in een open Targa uitvoering werd geleverd, waaronder deze schitterende, in 1968 geproduceerde Porsche 912 Targa. Deze auto is in meerdere opzichten bijzonder uniek.

Oorspronkelijk is deze schitterende Porsche 912 Targa Short Wheel Base geleverd in Spring Valley Californië. De originele kleur was Tangerine rood, maar is tijdens een grondige restauratie overgespoten in de schitterende kleur Canary Yellow. Het interieur is volledig origineel gelaten en in zeer uniek mooie conditie. Deze auto is vanaf 1971 tot 2023 in bezit geweest van één eigenaar en deze heeft er zichtbaar zeer goed voor gezorgd. De Amerikaanse registratiedocumenten zijn vanaf 1971 nog aanwezig bij deze prachtige Porsche 912, evenals de Californische kentekenplaten.

Deze Porsche 912 is al wat langere tijd geleden gerestaureerd en is in bijna perfecte conditie. De prachtige carrosseriekleur Canary Yellow heeft een diepe glans en de lak is in zeer goede staat. Ook de verschillende chroom- en sierdelen zijn in zeer goede en glanzende conditie. Dit geldt ook voor de diverse rubberdelen en afwerkingen. De carrosseriedelen sluiten goed op elkaar aan en de portieren (en ook motorkap en kofferklep) sluiten solide en goed. De schitterende en originele Fuchs velgen staan perfect onder deze Porsche 912 Targa. Het afneembare Targa dak is ook in zeer goede staat.

Het interieur van de Porsche is nog in zeer goede en originele staat. Het zwarte skailederen interieur is schitterend om te zien en de stoelen zitten comfortabel en goed. Het dashboard (met geborsteld aluminium inleg) is eveneens in zeer goede conditie en alle instrumenten werken naar behoren. De auto is voorzien van een perfect bijpassende (en werkende) Blue dot Blaupunkt radio, hoofdsteunen en originele deurtassen. Alles is nog in zeer goede en verzorgde staat. Het originele grote stuur is ook origineel en ligt goed stevig in de handen.

Onder de motorkap zien we een zeer goed verzorgde motorruimte. Het is duidelijk te zien dat deze auto met zeer veel liefde en zorg is onderhouden. De 1582 cc viercilinder boxermotor loopt erg soepel en rustig en zorgt voor voldoende vermogen om zowel sportief als comfortabel mee te rijden. De handgeschakelde versnellingsbak heeft vier gangen en schakelt bijzonder soepel en trefzeker. De auto is voorzien van schijfremmen voor en achter en de remmen voelen stevig en solide aan. Tijdens het rijden is ook heel goed te merken dat we hier te maken hebben met een zeer goed onderhouden Porsche 912 Targa in zeer unieke en schitterende conditie.
