1981 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL (R107). 5.0 V8 (4,973 cc), automatic, four approved seats. €49,900.

I’m selling my 500 SL in very good overall condition. It spent many years in California, then went to Germany and Sweden, where I bought it. I imported it to Spain and registered it as a historic vehicle in 2022.

Over €25,000 invested in restoration and maintenance, with invoices for the main work.

At Cochera, a classic Mercedes specialist: V8 engine restoration and servicing, water pump, repair of previous chassis damage, tyres, brakes and further mechanical work.

At Fernando Moret Clásicos: four Bilstein shock absorbers, steering gearbox repair and related parts including steering shaft universal joint; cooling system repairs (expansion tank, hoses, electric fan and coolant); fuel pressure accumulator and regulator, plus other servicing.

Talleres Duramás replaced the final two exhaust sections.

The instrument cluster, odometer and lighting, door and boot locks, and original electric Hirschmann antenna have also been repaired. Front headrests recently reupholstered. Original Becker Mexico cassette radio with discreet Bluetooth and hands-free calling, retaining its original appearance.

Black interior with wood trim, well-preserved chrome, soft top and original hardtop in excellent condition. Four seats with approved rear seat belts.

The V8 runs smoothly and pulls strongly; renewed steering and suspension make it stable and comfortable on the road. Heating currently bypassed; air conditioning needs repair, possibly conversion to modern refrigerant.

First registered January 1981. Odometer shows 110,501 (unit to be confirmed). Historic registration in Spain; ITV valid until January 2030. Available to view in Madrid.
