Citroën BX 14 TGE | 1991 | 55,000 Verified Kilometres | Restored
A well-preserved and mechanically restored 1991 Citroën BX 14 TGE with just 55,000 verified kilometres. Featuring its original twin-choke carburettor, iconic hydropneumatic suspension, excellent original interior and extensive mechanical refurbishment. Fully roadworthy, regularly maintained and enjoyed on long-distance road trips, including track sessions at Estoril. A characterful, ready-to-enjoy French classic with documented history, low running costs and genuine mileage.
I am selling my Citroën BX 14 TGE, first registered in November 1991, with just 55,000 genuine and verifiable kilometres, supported by a complete history of annual inspection records dating back to 1996.
This version was factory-equipped with a twin-choke carburettor, introduced on this engine in 1991, and features Citroën's iconic hydropneumatic suspension.
History and Restoration
The car had been off the road since 2012. I purchased it in February 2021 and began a mechanical restoration, paying particular attention to reliability and preserving its originality. By April 2021, the BX was back on the road.
The restoration included a thorough inspection of the main mechanical systems and the replacement of wear-and-tear components:

A Classic Built to Be Driven and Enjoyed
This is not a car that was restored just to sit in a garage. Over the past few years, I have had the pleasure of taking this BX on several memorable road trips and driving experiences, enjoying every kilometre:
Documentation and Running Costs
Location and Reason for Selling
I currently live in León, Spain, where the car is kept in a garage. It remains registered in Portugal and, for interested buyers, I may be able to help arrange delivery within Portugal or Spain.
The reason for selling is simple: lack of use.
After so many road trips and great memories, it is a shame to see it sitting unused in a garage. A Citroën BX like this deserves more. It deserves someone who appreciates its history, takes good care of it and, above all, takes it out for a drive every weekend when the sun comes out.
That is the next chapter I would love to see for this car.
Feel free to get in touch for further information, additional photographs, documentation or to arrange a viewing.
